   Osage County Commission Meeting Minutes

May 11, 2017

 

The meeting was called to order by Presiding Commissioner Dudenhoeffer at 8:33 AM.

Meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance.

District 1 Commissioner John Glavin present.

District 2 Commissioner Larry Kliethermes present.

County Clerk Patrick Steele on duty.

Media was represented by Jerri Voss.

Present for all or part of the meeting were: Sheriff Michael Bonham and Tim Neuner.

Approval of the Agenda:  Agenda was approved.

Minutes:  Minutes of Meeting of May 9, 2017 were submitted and approved. 

Bills and Communications:

Invitation to Phone Voice Student Showcase and Reception, Vehicle and Power Center, 5/11/17 from 6-7:30 PM

Meetings:

Partner Readiness Evaluation Program (PREP) has been postponed to June 29, 2017.

Second Photo Voice Reception, May 11, 2017 at Vehicle and Power Center of STC of MO from 6:00 to 7:30 PM.

Work Ready Meeting at Fatima School at 8:30 AM, Friday May 12, 2017.

Old Business:

Road and Bridge Items.

FEMA/SEMA meeting preceded the Commission Meeting and are they are currently touring the County.

Plan for County Roads:  Not discussed.

Website:  No problems.

Luebbering Law Suit: Mediation meeting on May 17, 2017.

2017 Tax Support Committee: Article in the UD will focus on infrastructure needs this coming week. An offer for donations to fund the Capital Improvement Tax has been accepted.  The brochure will read “funded by local business donations”.

Westphalia Road Issue:  No new information.

Agricultural Ready County Program Application:  No new information.

Health Care Consortium Statewide: No new information.

Senior Citizen Award Nomination: A good sized audience were present for the presentation of a special resolution honoring National Nursing Week and recognition of Lucy Brenner as a nursing volunteer who has been honored by plaques presented by Lieutenant Governor Parsons, Mike Kehoe and Tom Hurst. Lucy received many positive comments from those in attendance and pledged to continue to work for better health services for Osage County.

New BRO Project, CR 531:  No new information.

Rehagen Heating and Cooling: No new information.

Prescription Monitoring Ordinance: Listed as Ordinance # 012017.

County Compensation Packages Committee:  No new information.

 

New Business: 

 

Department Reports:

Sheriff Bonham reported that issues were being corrected and only one cell “B” is out of service.  He reported that jail population was down to only 6 prisoners.  He announced that Nick Nolte has resigned for personal reasons as of May 10, 2017. They have impounded a repossessed stolen car. Sheriff has asked for copies of the monthly WEX fuel bills to track mileage and usage.  He said all parties did a great job during the flooding,

Other: 

Tim Neuner talked about the Bank Bid procedure and suggested additional items be added to the bid document.  He mentioned that existing debt should be listed, loans, and any county credit cards should be included.  These items have been addressed in the bid packet.  One packet has already been picked up.

 

Adjournment:

With no further business, Commissioner Glavin made the motion to adjourn and it was seconded by Commissioner Kliethermes.  The meeting was adjourned at 9:12 A.M.
