  Osage County Commission Meeting Minutes

June 15, 2017

The meeting was called to order by Presiding Commissioner Dudenhoeffer at 8:30 AM.

Meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance.

District 1 Commissioner John Glavin present.

District 2 Commissioner Larry Kliethermes present.

Theresa Walter on duty.

Media was represented by Jerri Voss.

Present for all or part of the meeting were: Jerry Bryan, Susan Long, Andi Rice, and Carl Fowler.

Approval of the Agenda:  Agenda was approved.

Minutes:  No Minutes were reviewed or approved.

Bills and Communications:

Conflict of Interest Ordinance must be re-adopted by September 15, 2017. Staff is working on it.

Theresa Walter is covering and recording the meeting.

Meetings:

PREP meeting is scheduled for June 20, 2017 at 9 AM for the Commissioners. The Commission will meet at 7:30 AM to review and approve invoices for payment.

West Central District Commissioners Meeting in Camdenton on June 22, 2017. Commissioners will meet at 2 PM to approve timesheets for payroll.

The Taste of Osage County will be held on June 24, 2017 at City Park.

Outstanding Citizens Nominations for MRPC Meeting deadline is June 26, 2017.

Budget Amendment Hearing is scheduled for June 29, 2017 at 9:30 AM.

County Government Day, State Auditor Nicole Galloway, July 26, 2017 from 9 AM to 4 PM. 

MRPC Dinner Meeting is scheduled in Salem for October 26, 2017. Details to be provided later.

Old Business:

Road and Bridge Items:

New BRO Project, CR 531:  Got fully executed agreement.

Plan for County Roads:  Not discussed.

Website:  Will be removed from agenda at Commissioners’ request.

Luebbering Law Suit: Trial dates are set for Nov. 6-9, 2017 in Union, MO.

Tax Issue Pamphlet: The was a decision made to show the number of employees at 15 to include Debbie Mehmert and Randy Atkin.

Westphalia Road Issue:  No new information.

Agricultural Ready County Program:    Presiding Commissioner will contact the Fair Board about schedule.

Health Care Consortium Statewide: Information has been sent.

County Compensation Packages Committee:  Not discussed.

FEMA - SEMA Follow-up:  No new information.

Request for Bid for cell walls in Jail:   Ad run for two weeks.  Bids due in Clerk’s Office on July 5, 2017.

New Business: 

 

 

Departmental Reports:

Andi Rice brought in a birthday letter to be signed by the Commissioners for one of her employees. Commissioners should attend the meeting for applicant briefing at SEMA on 6/23/2017. She also discussed Hazard Mitigation grants that could fund raising of CR 275 and also fund a 100% buyout program for flooded properties.  Commissioners were not inclined to support 100% buyout because of additional liability for the County.  FEMA is planning on setting up a mobile unit in Osage County to process claims.

Susan Long gave her May report of the Health Department to the Commissioners and provided copies to them. She also discussed having mosquito larvae briquettes that are being used in areas with standing water to control mosquitos.

            Budget Amendment was mentioned but a comment was made that the County Clerk did not give much time to understand the changes.

Other:

Presiding Commissioner Dave Dudenhoeffer reported that our Workforce Committee was up to speed with an EMT Committee member who has had the training.

 

Adjournment:

With no further business, Commissioner Glavin made the motion to adjourn and it was seconded by Commissioner Kliethermes.  The meeting was adjourned at 9:55 AM.
